Brief Description of match
India Women defeated Bangladesh Women by 10 wickets thanks to a potent bowling effort that began by Renuka Singh Thakur and finished by Radha Yadav. This victory secured India’s place in the Asia Cup final for the second time. Bangladesh was limited to 80/8 as India’s clinical display with the ball was dominated by Renuka (3-10) and Radha (3-14). India reached the mark in just 11 overs, and Mandhana even scored fifty during the brief chase.
Bangladesh Women Inning :
Renuka tackled quite a bit of damage to Bangladesh’s batting in her three powerplay overs, striking in every over. Dilara Akter was out trying to replicate a shot that she had just struck for a six over deep square leg. Ishma Tanjim defeated Renuka to become the short third man after hitting two fours off Pooja Vastrakar.
Deepti Sharma knocked down Murshida Khatun, but she failed to capitalise on the momentary relief as she gave a catch in the deep attempt to pull Renuka. Nigar Sultana struck Tanuja Kanwar for a four, but Bangladesh was unable to take advantage of the powerplay due to many wickets taken early in the innings.
Renuka bowled the seventh over, resulting in a maiden wicket to end her tenure. The Indian bowlers persisted in keeping the ball tight, preventing Bangladesh from scoring easily. After Rumana Ahmed was bowled, Radha struck in the tenth over, with Bangladesh trailing 32/4 at the midway point.
Only in the sixteenth over of the innings did Bangladesh eventually reach fifty runs. In the 17th over, Shorna Akter hit a four off a thick edge off Radha, Bangladesh’s first boundary in 11.1 overs. With just 5 wickets conceded in her economical 18th over, Deepti finished with a 1-14 score. Vastrakar was hit for four by both Shorna and Sultana, with 13 coming in the 19th over.
However, Radha’s outstanding final over, which saw him dismiss Sultana (32 off 51) and Nahida Akter in addition to finishing with a double-wicket maiden, restricted Bangladesh from making a low score.
India Women Inning :
India Women got off to a strong start in the chase, scoring almost half of the mark inside the powerplay, in dramatic contrast to Bangladesh’s innings. Shafali started things off with a boundary off Nahida, but Mandhana struck four off Marufa Akter.
After hitting a four each off Marufa in the third over, Mandhana pulled Jahanara Alam over deep backward square leg for the first six of the inning. After that, Mandhana struck two fours off Nahida, and India enjoyed a fruitful powerplay even though Jahanara gave up just one run in the sixth over.
Striking a four off Jahanara in the 8th over, Mandhana handed a catch to backward point but to her relief, the bowler had overstepped. She also hit a four off Rabeya Khan before Shafali got a reprieve. It was all over in the 11th over when Mandhana hit three successive fours off Nahida, with the second boundary helping her bring up a 38-ball fifty.
